lily pond anglesey
Not been out of late i think due to the fact im getting a bit peeved with fishing (every weekend anyway) so after a lot of moidering by degs i managed to drag myself out yesterday.
With high winds and rain we left it late in the afternoon hoping it would flatten off by the time we got there so we headed for lily pond. got there and there were maccie bashers on the prime spot so we headed west and found a nice comfy rock.
set up a 2 hook flapper straight down the front and one rod hoping for a few maccie.
Nowt on the straight down rod and first knock on the feathers.
then it was a steady stream of dab's y/ting and dogs until the swell dropped a bit and the wrasse started to bite.
one at a time.
then 2 at a time.
after a while the wrasse slowed down so we paid attention to the maccie feathers catching a few full house's.
which we used for bait funny enough the only thing we were getting on the fresh maccie was pollock close in.
and degs.
then after about 10 pollock another lul and all i had out was a scorpion.
then golden balls pulls up what we were after.
Then a lul again for a good hour so we upped and left for a bass beach. got there and boy was it rough big surf on just about holding bottom and tons of weed. sacked it after an hour and moved out the surf and i managed just the 1 all be it small.
in all not a bad day and i think ive got the bug again. cheers degs.
