well i should introduce myself i guess..
my name is Adie and im from mansfield originally (Newgate Lane area)
spent most of my early days fishing Field Mill Dam and the stream running into it, i didnt actually pick up a rod until i was 16, small telescopic setup from Argos, after watching the gudgeon swimming around my maggot on what must have been a size 6 i was hooked lol.
these days i live in Nottingham, and spend most of my fishing time on commercials such as Rycroft, although i have never fished a match i would like to have a go in a friendly not too serious club. Now the season has started im planning on a few hours down the Trent after work a few times a week.
(luckily my other half fishes too so i dont need an excuse Very Happy )
if anyone has any general river fishing tips id be most pleased to take them on board Smile
anyway i hope to meet up with you guys soon and hopefully do my bit for the great charity you support.
Regards
Adie

i spent a lot of time around sutton as a kid mate, my gran lived at unwin road near the sutton lawn, and my uncle lived up alfreton road near the mapplewells pub, before i took up fishing though so i didnt take advantage of the lawn pond.
would be nice to come over for a quick session one day, if i can learn a thing or two then its good for me Smile
i see you have fished barlow lakes a few times, i used to love that place but find it a little over the top on bait bans now, beautiful place and lovely atmosphere away from any traffic though makes its what it is.

Totally agree Adie there is a bait issue at Barlow same on the fly lakes but the location makes it worth it same problem at Woodend unfortunately what sort of fishing do you prefer mate silvers or Carp have found a new Lake stuffed with silvers Crucian and a few nice Common and Mirror Carp free fishing and not far from Sutton.
I live Just across from Staff of life pub by the way do you know it?

morning pal, yeah i know the staff of life, been a while since ive been down that way to be honest. as for my fishing, i fish for anything that is suicidal enough to take my bait lol. im equally happy with a good days silvers fishing as i am chucking out a method of shipping out a pole for the carp.
i think its as much about being at the bankside as it is the catching.
the lake with the crucians sounds good, been a while since i caught one of them,

Sound mate will arrange a day out with the lads but we do have a bit of a hefty wager on the biggest fish or total weight sometimes as much as £1 each
