24hrs of fishing for charity
Well following on from our 24hr darts & charity W/E at Pine Trees, myself & John are doing a 24hr sponcered fish for the same charity Derbyshire Childrens Holiday Home in Skeggy.
We have been given special permission from the owner of Birch House fishery at Brailsford to do the 24hrs in one go as they only allow fishing from Dawn to Dusk.
We are also being sponsored by Carp Vader for the event.we are also going the rounds of the tackle shops ect for raffle prizes to run a raffle as well.
The dates for this are 19th/20th Aug.
A big thanks to the owner & Staff at Birch House Fishery for allowing it to take place & for waiving the peg fees, also to Carp Vader for there sponsorship.

Re: 24hrs of fishing for charity
This was our First 24hr charity Event held byDERBY DISABLED ANGLING CLUB Members. We held it at BIRCH HOUSE FISHERY I as chairman of
DERBY DISABLED ANGLING CLUB would like to thank the owner of the fishery David Goodall for his permission to fish the full 24hrs free of charge and also Pat and Mick (Bailiffs)for help in raising £65 for the raffle at the fishery. .
Right now for my report on the 24hrs
Keith came to picked me up at about 8am after a cuppa we set off for the fishery arriving about 9. Pat had booked us at the top end of the Silver lake where the bigger fish seem to live. Martin had gone to pick Steve up so he got there a bit later. Keith and I set up to start fishing I fished peg 25 in the corner a noted peg for carp and chub Keith on peg 22.
I set up my pole as normal as did Keith.
Peg 25
Nigel arrived about 10am and set up on peg 21 and was soon into fish as he wasn't staying the full 24hrs so he started fishing before the 24hr began. Next to arrive was Alan who also was on a day ticket so he set up on peg 20. Martin duly arrived with Steve and set up on peg 24- 23 . We started our event at 12 30pm and all of us where into fish in the first 5 mins. After a couple of hrs of none stop catching it was time for a well earned cup of tea which Martin made. Cheers mate.
After 5 hrs we weighed our fish and Martin had 27lb Steve 21lb and me 19lb .
We were using Groundbait supplied by BLACKSIVER BAITS in Leicester and DYNAMITE BAITS. Flavorings were donated by CARP VADER and MAINLINEBAITS .
The next few hrs were very hot and Steve was catching fish on top using Bread while Martin was catching shallow for the silvers. Around 8am Keith Alan Nigel packed up and headed home around this time after a good days fishing. we weighed our fish and got ready for the night time setting up feeders and alarms
The darkness soon fell on us but the fish kept coming Steve whipped a starlite to the end of his rod and was catching on bread on top still . I was into Skimmer bream and chub while Martin was catching anything that swam (Hes not a bad angler realy but dont tell him I said so )
Heres a 7lb 12oz carp that Steve had in the night.
The fish realy started to bite and it was a fish a chuck most of the night. Sun rise came so another weigh in was done. Steve having 33lb -Martin 29lb amd me 28lb (only just beat me Martin mate.)
After a hearty breakfast we carried on but now the weather was cloudy and the drizzle started. We continued to catch using Maggots pellets and corn .It then started to rain hard for about 30mins but that did not deter us. Steve had a P/B. Crucian of 2lb 8oz .Well done mate.
Steves Crucian.
Alan once again joined us for some fishing. It was nice to see Alan Morton and his wife coming to give us some support too. At 12 30pm we packed up and weighed our last nets. Altogether we had 254lb of fish thats 80lb average for the 3 of us so thats not bad fishing.
More pics to follow.
We would like to thank the Following for donations to this great Charity.
