Carp for Bait. Empty Carp for Bait.

I have been told that on another forum someone used 3 -8lb carp for bait to catch Catfish. Would you use carp that size just to get a Cat fish. I certainly WOULDN'T.

I hope this is in the right area.

I think that post refered to fishing on the Ebro in Spain John where it is normal to use tench, carp and crucian carp as both live and dead bait. If it was in this country I would be totally against it but in spain it really is the norm according to a couple of guides I know who have fished the Ebro a lot.
