cymran/ st mary's
was going to do a silly o'clock this morning but her indoor's said why dont you go tonight instead. (sunday) so didnt argue.
as it happens deg's was doing an all dayer so give him a call and we met at rhosnieger just after tea the idea was to start here then go to a rock mark later.
so we headed down the beach and set up in the bright sun shine. nice surf and no wind.
deg's setting up.
to be quiet honest the target was for ray's as we had been here a few time's in the last few week's to try for them. and had heard of some coming off lately and a few caught sat night in a comp. we set two rod's up each one with fish bait's as far as we could chuck them and one on the third wave in case any bass were showing.
strait away all our rod's bent over getting pulled by load's of weed it took about 5 minute's bringing them in and there must of been about 10lb of weed on them. so we moved down the beach about what seemed a quarter of a mile. found a bit of beach that wasnt to weedy. and set up again this time the weed was close in but we were casting over it and picking it up close to the shore as we brought in.
waited about an hour and nowt then deg's starts whineing ****ing beach's the devil's work so whilst deciding were next a get a fair knock and land this little silver.
we stayed an other half hour and moved on to st marys in persuit of conger we set up here two rod's again fish bait on one and worm on the other using pulley rig's. first in was me then degs then me then degs and so on. sraight into our favourite fish.
time for home then deg's gets a small huss.
fed up with the dog's we changed our bait's to maccie head's and straight away we were getting good conger run's but most went to ground with deg's managing to get one small one out.
and that was it. were having one last bash at the island this saturday then that's going to be it. were going cod hunting in the mersey and a couple of trip's to the east coast.
