Flood Control Lake 27th May 2008
Well after the weekends weather we woke up this morning expecting more rain but it was hot and muggy. So Michael and I decided to nip down to our local lake for a couple of hours pole fishing.
The lake is only two or three minutes drive from our house and then a short walk up and down some steep banks to the lake.

We had only taken a few pellets some corn and some luncheon meat with us so we didn't know what to expect especially as we haven't fished the lake for a few years as it isn't accessible for Julz (she decided to take the dog out and have a relaxing bath instead of coming along)
Straight away I was getting bites on meat and had a small roach of 4-5oz, I was getting some very delicate bites but soon hooked into something a bit bigger.
A little skimmer of about 12 oz
Michael was catching a few roach of a similar stamp to mine then he decided to switch to corn and promptly had a nicer fish.
Between us we had half a dozen bream and half a dozen roach in just under two hours topped of by this one I caught just as we were packing up a skimmer of about a pound
