The Allan Water rises in the ochil hills to the south of blackford in Perth and Kinross.
It flows south westwards and southwards into Stirling council area where it joins
The River Forth immediately south of Bridge of Allan.

Allan Water Angling Improvement Association controls most but not all of the fishing available.
Their fishing starts from Greenloaning downriver to where the river flows into the Forth.

The fishing available is for salmon, sea trout and brown trout.

The river is fly only till the 1st of May.
Spinning is allowed from the 1st of may to the 31st of october and there is no
worm or any live bait fishing before the 1st of June or after the 26th of August.

Daily limits are :
2 salmon : 4 sea trout : 6 Brown trout.

Permits can be obtained from Dunblane Post Office.

Loch Coulter is situated just outside Denny and is run by Larbert and Stenhousemuir Angling Club.
It is Boat and fly fishing only with a 6 fish limit per person and the fishing is for rainbows and browns.

The season is from April 1st till Sept 30th

Millhall Fishery is located near junction 4 of the M9 between Grangemouth and Bo`ness, close to the village of Polmont. It consists of 8 acres of superbly stocked water, surrounded by natural woodland. There is ample parking space for all anglers, with disabled parking close to the jetty.

It is bank and boat fly fishing and the water is stocked primarily with fully finned hard fighting rainbow trout and a few golden trout. There is also a resident head of wild brown trout. The average rainbow caught at Millhall exceeds 2lb and double figure trout up to 15lb in weight are regularly.

The reservoir is the home of Avonbank Fishing Club and is currently administrated solely by the serving committee of the club. The season starts Saturday 4th March and ends Sunday 5th Nov.


Tariff and Session Times for 2006

Day session 0900-1600hrs : Evening session 1600 till Dusk

Half Session--£11.00--2 Fish Limit + 2 fish catch and release

SEASON TICKETS :- 10 visits = £160.00 15 visits = £225.00 20 visits = £280.00

Each visit will entitle you to 4 fish then catch and release for a further 4.

Alternatively there is a sporting season ticket, which entitles you to catch and release at all times.
The number of outings is unlimited, the only restriction being is a maximum of 4 hours fishing in any one day. This could give you in excess of 200 outings at the cost of £280. Advance booking is recommended

Swanswater Fisheries is situated about 2 miles south of Sauchieburn, Stirling.
There are three pools the largest of which being ten acres.

The fishing is by way of It is boat and bank for rainbows steelheads and browns.

They are open all year round and the faclities include refreshments, tackle for sale and tuition.

The prices vary but the main pond which is fly only is £19 for any 8 hours with a 5 fish limit

£16 for any 6 hours with a 4 fish limit

£12.50 for any 4 hours with a 3 fish limit

and £6.50 for 2 hours with a 2 fish limit.

Prices for the other two pools are slightly less.

of Stirling Services. Stirling 2 miles, Falkirk 3 miles, Glasgow 17 miles, Edinburgh 23 miles.

It is Fly and bait fishing on 2 Lochans set in a spectacular location with hard fighting rainbows to
15lb and brown trout to 5lb. Lochan Uaithne is 3 acres of Fly Fishing from the bank and Lochan
