hi about a month ago my son who goes carp fishing was getting ready and I noticed a spool of red elasticated material it looked just like the stuff my bloodworms are made of it is elasticated but very stong he says he uses it as a stop knot and he gave me some.
while fishing a local lake using a black buzzer without much luck
I was going to change to a bloodworm when i realised i had left them in the car typical only about an hour of daylight left so i thought Iwould stick it out on the buzzer.
Then I remembered the power gum I cut a length of about 2" long and tied it to the buzzer five mins later i was holding a 3lbs rainbow
it gave me great satisfaction as it was the first fly I had ever tied
I may even by a tying kit now and tie some more of my own design
I will never go fishing without it now queen

Nothing more satisfying than tying then catching on your own flies. Well done my man.
