Some high winds have descended upon central Florida and are forecast to remain with us for much of the coming week. The wind has made sight fishing difficult but we have managed to catch some nice redfish and seatrout despite the challenging conditions. Water levels are still quite high but the temperature has dropped significantly with yesterday morning's water at 66 degrees. If conditions allow you to find the fish, they have been biting.

When you can find the redfish, they are willing to eat and I saw many tailing fish during the past couple weeks.

Recent trips have resulted in varying levels of success. Last week, I fished with Duncan and ...

Hi lads,

Was wondering if anyone can advise about Sandwich Bay - Never fished there but fancy giving it a try this coming Friday/Sat.

Can you park OK on Princess Drive and if so is any end preferred?

Is it far to walk for the beach? Both me and me mate are a little disabled with the walking.

Don't want to be doing any trek's.

And what sort of species can we expect so we know which baits might be the best to take with us.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice

tight lines

With the water level having risen over a foot during the past several weeks, the redfish have plenty of areas to visit that were inaccessible during the summer. Many of the large redfish have moved to the deeper basins for their spawn. When you can find the reds on the flats, however, they have been willing to eat a variety of lures. Much of my time the past couple weeks has been dedicated to chasing tarpon. You can find at least a few every day and some days they are quite plentiful. I have ...

Late August and September are typically the slowest months for the charter fishing business in this area. This gives me plenty of time to fish during what is one of my favorite times of year. That is exactly what I have been doing the past couple weeks. Variety is the name of the game and it is often fun to see how many different types you can catch in a day. Tarpon, however, are my main target and I spend most mornings targeting them. While they are fun to catch, they can certainly be frustrating. ...

Nearly every day brings legitimate chances to catch multiple species such as redfish, black drum, seatrout, tarpon, snook, and jack crevalle.

Last Monday, Jim and his son-in-law Brian drove up from Melbourne to target large redfish in Mosquito Lagoon. Prior to spotting reds, we encountered a large school of black drum and Brian landed one before ...

This was not a bad thing, though, as the fish have less places to go and were plentiful and easy to find. The vacation was great with daily catches of tarpon and snook with some snapper, flounder, and jacks mixed in.

Nearly all of the fish we caught were on the DOA holographic shrimp with a few coming on the Terror Eyz. ...
