but when im fishing a running water like the Trent then its Stickfloat or feeder

After thursdays slow day out i thought id get out today for a few hour's with me left over fresh peeler.

the only reason being the kid's and her indoor's are at the flick's. so i sneeked out for 3 hour's for a flattie bash and an experiment with weight's and tacktick's.

Just got back from hol's so decided with 4 day's to go back to work we need a trip out. looked at weather and tide's and thought yesterday was best weather but worst tide so anyhow it go's like this.

headed down the island to meet up with glynne (swelly). got bait then headed of to raven's. a bit of a swell on and a nice little head wind we decided to chance high water down to low.

Ive won a 5 hour match with a small perch of less than 1oz when no one else caught at Sutton Lane

ive had a few 20s best 1 back in the 1970s just over 29lb from the North Level Main drain Nr Wisbech, Cambs.

but in my oppinion my best result piking was when i won my sect & come 13th overall out of over 500 anglers in the 2002 British Pike Championship Final, i drew on the 16ft drain & it fished very hard i managed 2 pike for 12-lb i think it was but it was enough to give me a good position

New club for disabled fishing opens in Derby

Derby Disabled Angling Club was formed on the night of 24th July 2008.

It was a great evening and very well attended. The Guinness flowed well. We are using the William Caxton public house in Sunnyhill, Derby as our headquarters and we are very gratefull to the landlord for allowing us the use of his pub.

A constitution and club rules was done and match rules sorted. It was agreed that subs will be �10 a year but will be reviewed at the Clubs A.G.M.

We received a surprise cheque through the post at the weekend and as Julz has been asking for a new dining table, we went out and bought a great big pile of wood.

After a lot of hard work we have ended up with this

I was very pleased with the way it turned out as Julz had asked for a rustic style dining table ......... I think this passes as a rustic table

Local Pond Again

As the weather has been so good this week we thought that we should get a days fishing in. We decided on our local pond again, so Julz could drive herself there on her electric scooter.

I set up on the pole and Julz on the feeder, the lake looked great with loads of lillies and a couple of islands

Straight away I was into a stream of nice sized crucian carp up to the one pound mark, then Julz shouted she needed a hand to land a fish, she had a nice tench of just shy of a pound

with all the mutt action going on we decided it was our turn for a few. so after scratching our head's thinking where to try we headed down to lincolnshire as we didnt fancy rock channel or scratching around the island.

the plan was to do an all nighter friday so we headed across the m62 then down the coast tea time friday and after a 4 hour drive we met up with paul (coalie).

so we ended up not far from here.

With very low water levels in the Mosquito Lagoon, the redfish have less areas to roam making them easier to find, on most days. Tailing and finning reds have been plentiful. Persistent clouds and haze have been presenting a problem for the past couple weeks. When the fish have not been tailing, they are nearly impossible to see unless the sun is out. When sight fishing, good visibility is extremely important. Despite the sometime challenging conditions, we caught fish every day.
